Greetings everyone. It's been a long time coming, but I am finally updating things here on DA and giving the site one last go at being useful for me since I have been here so long, and really haven't shopped around to see what else is out there.
For those of you who don't know me, I am an aspiring author who has had a severe amount of roadblocks along the way and numerous personal motivation issues. The latter of which I hope to remedy someday, and soon. I currently have two projects in the works, with a good amount of others that I started once upon a time and never got off the ground with. Life, huh?
For those that do (which are few), I am going to attempt to get out of my comfort zone and try and be a tad more involved in social media use as I will need to get my hands dirty with it in order to ever be successful as a writer in today's market.
Now, to share some insight into things for all of you, my two projects are quite different in both scope and intent, and one will have the majority of my focus for the time being.
Wayward Saga. This setting is one that has been a side project for a long time now but will now be my current focus, and I can honestly claim that some of the characters within it are some of the oldest ones I've created, who only recently have been blessed with acquisition of art either via commission or adaptation to fit a variety of adoptable characters I have purchased. This setting is intended to be a series of free to read periodicals that will be done in an episodic format, with each episode being a tad longer than a short story, but not quite a novel. Wayward Saga is a superhero themed universe set within a world with a medieval technology level, where individuals with powers acquire them from fonts of power where two or more leylines have intersected and began pooling excess energies. As the world of Erlyse's population has increased, the discovery of these locations of power sources has also increased, resulting in a larger roster of empowered persons and resulting in the need of an organization whose job it is to monitor, document and employ these individuals for the greater good. Thus the guild of R.I.S.E. was formed, which provides no allegiance to any nation and gives no assistance in their wars, employing a wide assortment of empowered individuals to help the populace of all nations equally. That is, of course, the public face of the group. In this world, a young woman named Sabira is thrust into a large scale adventure when a group arrives with the intention of assassinating her for reasons unknown. Events culminate in her spirit being fused with that of a Djinn, and thus changing her life forever. When R.I.S.E. comes calling for her to answer the call to greatness, what will she learn? What will she do?
I'voskore. This setting is still very much a work in progress as I am still piecing things together for it. Having determined that I bit off more than I could chew with my Totheia setting by focusing so much on world building that I made a setting too large for one person to functionally manage and still make heads or tails of my own plot, I had to set it down. I'voskore, being a fresh idea, shall be what fills the void as my commercial project and future hope for a published novel. As of right now, it is bare bones, but is an attempt at the creation of a new sub-genre within the "Punk" theme varieties. I shall unfortunately be a little tight lipped about what I am working on with it until I have more about it set in stone, as I am focusing on getting the concept of the sub-genre down and crystal clear so I can properly convey it through the setting and story in order to distinguish it from any other potentially similar settings.
And that's about it, really. There's no real need to share anything about myself on here any longer as I've pretty much grown out of that kind of thing. Besides, if anyone really wanted to know that stuff, they could just ask. :)
Thanks for the read if you gave it one, and hopefully I shall have some stuff to share that is worth it as well soon enough!
